Student Art Show at the college, Tiki Night at the Merry Time, Comedy at the Liberty, and more this weekend!

Clatsop Community College Annual Student Art Show
Clatsop Community College’s Annual Student Art Show kicks off Thursday, May 19, 2022 with a community reception at the Royal Nebeker Gallery (1799 Lexington) starting at 6pm. During the reception, cash prizes and award winners will be announced and the juror, local painter and inflatable sculpture artist Paul Polson, will be present at the reception to give a juror’s talk.
The CCC Art Student Show is an annual juried event that showcases artwork created in the various art courses offered at the college during the past two academic years, including graphic design, basic design, drawing, painting, ceramics, photography and printmaking. CCC studio art instructors are Richard Rowland (Ceramics), Lucien Swerdloff (Graphic Design), David Homer (Photography), Ben Rosenberg (Printmaking), and Kristin Shauck (Drawing, Painting, and Basic Design).
After Thursday’s reception, the show will be on display until June 10, 2022. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm.
Tiki Night at the Merry Time
Merry Time Bar & Grill (995 Marine Drive) a Merrytime Tiki Extravaganza this Saturday, May 19, 2022 from 7pm-10pm. A night of tropical drinks, live surf rock, exotica, and more!

North Coast Comedy Night at the Liberty Theatre

The Liberty Theatre (1203 Commercial) presents a North Coast Comedy Night this Saturday, May 21, 2022.
Your Headliner: Monica Nevi. A one-of-a-kind comic hailing from the Seattle area, she’s been performing all over the country for 10+ years. She approaches her jokes – and the world – through a unique and engaging lens, topped with a keen wit that has propelled her toward becoming one of the Pacific Northwest premier comedic talents. She boasts a bevy of accolades, and has opened for the likes of Michael Ian Black, Ari Shaffir, Sarah Colomna and Nick Swardson.
Adam Pasi, an absolute fixture of the Oregon comedy scene, will also be performing.
The host is Drew Wilson-McGrath. Also known as ‘just a guy’, Drew has been doing stand-up all over the Pacific Northwest for over three years.
Tickets are $10. Doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm. This show is 21 and over only!

Astoria Sunday Market
The Astoria Sunday Market runs from 10am to 3pm every Sunday through mid-October on 12th Street downtown, between Marine Drive and Exchange.
Astoria Sunday Market, at the heart of Astoria’s Downtown, combines fresh produce, local arts & crafts, food, music and more in a lively downtown street market atmosphere. The market features up to 200 vendors each week offering locally-made products that have been hand-crafted, grown, created or gathered by the farmers, craftspeople and artisans featured each week. In addition, the Market has a lively food court with regional entertainment making this the gathering place each Sunday for locals and visitors to the region.
