The Astoria hot dog slingers at Goon Dawgz hosted their first annual hot dog eating contest on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Clatsop County Animal Shelter received all the proceeds from the competition entry fee, and had adoptable dogs at the event!

SS Pacific Tracker (Naval auxiliary vehicle) passes the Columbia River Maritime Museum on its way to Portland
The SS Pacific Tracker launched in 1965 as the break-bulk freighter, SS Mormacdraco. She’s 202.90 meters (665 feet, 8 inches) long, and 22.86 meters (75 feet) wide. In 2009 she was converted to X-Band Transportable Radar Ship at Cascade General Shipyards in Portland and renamed the SS Pacific Tracker.
