Astoria Zine Festival – 1st Annual!

Don’t miss the first annual Astoria Zine Festival (Saturday October 11th and Sunday October 12th 2025) at Cambium Gallery (1030 Duane Street).

Brought into existence by Cambium Gallery and Oscar Astoria, The Astoria Zine Fest is a vibrant celebration of self-expression, independent publishing, and the weird, wild, and wonderful world of zines.

Zine vending / tabling and an open mic zine reading take place on Saturday, October 11 from 5pm-8pm during Artwalk.

Come get new zines by July Goguen and yours truly, including Astoria Man #2!

Astoria Man #1

I made a zine!

Cover of my zine "Astoria Man", featuring black and white depiction of the Astoria Column. Zine is leaning up against a window behind which is a view of a bulk carrier ship on Columbia River in Astoria, Oregon and the mountains across the river in Washington.

Astoria Man is a selection of stuff that floats my boat; i.e. art, rambling randomness, and recipes.

A limited supply will be available 12 July 2025 at Heather July’s “Being Cool in Real Life” (aka “Party of Fowl“) art show @ the Astoria Studio Collective (upstairs at 372 10th Street) 5pm-8pm!

Poet, memoirist, travel writer Suzanne Roberts to speak at Astoria Library

Poet, memoirist, and travel writer Suzanne Roberts will speak at the Astoria Library (450 10th) on Wednesday May 4, 2022 at 6pm, in the library’s first program for adults.

She will read from her new collection of essays, Animal Bodies: On Death, Desire, and Other Difficulties, and sign books, as noted in Our Coast Weekend. Her other works include Almost Somewhere: Twenty-Eight Days on the John Muir Trail (which won the 2012 National Outdoor Book Award), her travel essay memoir Bad Tourist: Misadventures in Love and Travel, and four poetry collections.
